I know of at least two members of the group who are currently writing applications in Ruby on Rails. I can't speak for them (since I'm no longer a Vanderbilt student, incidentally having left to pursue a career writing ROR apps) but I would bet that they would be interested in some kind of Rails introduction.

In the meantime, I would recommend watching the screencasts and the book Agile Web Development with Ruby on Rails. And if you're very interested in databases, CS265 might be an interesting (though possibly challenging if you're not a CS major) course to take.

[unrelated to post]

I know that you guys sponsored the PHP lesson late Spring and I was wondering if anyone was willing to do something similar for Ruby on Rails? I'm really interested in learning more about it but I'm not really sure where to start since I don't have much of a database background. Just thought I'd throw out an idea...
