(Sparse) Meeting notes

Hey all,

So here is a quick preview of what we covered::

1. Welcome to VandyCS – Brief introduction to the club
— Introduce officers

Kyle interned @ Google
Chelsea interned @ the Nashville Mayor’s office
Adam was a baller
Ben programmed iPhones
Hamy programmed Google phones (Android)
etc…
— What do you want to get out of the club? Hamy and Ben talked about each of the items on the survey and what they implied:
+ Gaming: VandyLAN, Smaller LAN parties
+ Programming: Coding nights, Weekend of Code, VMAT (Vandy Mobile Application Team), mentoring by more experienced students
+ Job search/networking: Talks by Digital Nashville members, presidents of local organizations, professors. Send jobs out on the mailing list
+ Community: games on alumni lawn, lasertag downtown, gaming nights (in FGH and in Towers?), vandyCS parties

2. Brief discussion of VandyLAN:
— Talk about past statistics, past sponsors (BooKoo, Apple, Microsoft, etc…).
— Talk a bit about the role of volunteers

3. Talk about Voting System located at https://studentorgs.vanderbilt.edu/elections and how it was created by club members. Source of income! Always looking for more projects like that. Contact us!

4. Have existing members talk to new members
