LAN Party Success

The LAN party was a pheonominal success. We gave away lots of prizes, had plenty to eat and drink, and most of all, had a great time. I want to thank once again everyone who both volunteered and participated in the LAN party — it couldn’t have happened without you. Here’s looking forward to the next LAN in the spring!

LAN Party Article in the Hustler

There is an article about the LAN party today in the Hustler. Check it out. Some good quotes there from our officers and our Freshman member whose name I’m quite sure is Aaron Thompson. This has driven sign-ups and traffic way up on our site, so it’s great news for the LAN Party. I hope to see you all there on Friday!

Meeting 10 October

Hello everyone!

We’ve got another great meeting planned for tomorrow. This is the second-to-last meeting before the LAN party. We will be discussing:

  • Various updates on web projects (eCouncil and Tri-Delta)
  • Training for students by VandyCS and SGA
  • Various updates to the LAN party, including spending approvals
  • A possible Mayfield living/learning lodge for next year
  • Interest on an interview Podcast for VSC or Vandy News Service
  • Two paid web design opportunities for a Vanderbilt department and Vanderbilt-affiliated company
  • As always, open discussion (e.g. Battlestar Galactica)

The meeting starts promptly at 6PM tomorrow, 10 October in Sarratt 110. Be there or be elsewhere!

Volunteers for LAN Party

Hello all,

I need people interested in volunteering for the LAN party to e-mail me at president@vandycs.org. “Why would I be interested in volunteering?”, I hear you ask. Well, we are giving everyone who volunteers two tickets towards winning raffle items at the end of the night. This puts your odds of winning an Xbox 360, iPod Nano 4GB, or Nintendo DS Lite, and more at the same as a tournament winner! For more information, you can check out the LAN Party page and the volunteering page. You can also fill out the contact form after the jump.
