Team Formation
- Since there’s no real way from what I know of the registration system to sign up as teams, bands will be made to sign up as teams just on paper right before the tournament so we can keep track of the band members
- People are only allowed to be in one band regardless of whether they’d be free to play or not.
- All band members must play on a minimum difficulty of hard, although expert is encouraged
- Similarly, bands are allowed to play with three members but are encouraged to find a 4th to be competitive

Gameplay
- If a gigantic number of bands show up, or just even an odd number of bands, an elimination round will be held to trim it down to a bracket-friendly number. All bands will be forced to play the same song but can choose their members’ difficulties. (ideas on how to pick which song?)
- 4 songs from the same difficulty level will be randomly generated (exact method tba, even just a hat would work). Each band will choose one song, and both bands will play both songs. If one band gets a higher maximum score on both songs, that band moves on to the next level of brackets. If each band only beats one song,  one of the two remaining songs is picked randomly (coin toss) and used as a tiebreaker
- The difficulty tier the songs are selected from will go up as the bracket advances so that the last song will be one of the hardest. Exactly how fast the difficulty goes up depends on the number of bands
- Downloaded/Bonus songs will not be in the randomizer

Conduct/Mechanics
- If a band member exits the menu before their score can be recorded, they are disqualified (is that fair?)
- If the 4th band member can’t be found when his band is supposed to play after 5 minutes the band must play with three unless they can find another person. If a band is 2 members short when they are supposed to play, they are disqualified unless they can get at least one more person
- - bands are allowed to pull random volunteers as long as those volunteers are not in other bands themselves
- - (what should we do if the person is found but busy playing another tournament?)
- If we assume each song to be roughly 4 minutes, with a 2-3 minute layover in between songs, each round would take between 12 and 21 minutes depending on if there needed to be a tiebreaker. This means that with 8 bands the bracket would take around 3 hours 9 minutes on only one set of equipment. Elimination round would take another 90 minutes if there were originally 15 bands (I’ve been using 15 as my max estimate but I doubt we’ll get that many. Since the elimination rould will probably take less time than adding additional bracket tiers, I suggest we eliminate down to 8 before we start doing Chris’ 4-song thing.

Let me know what you think.
